My name is Jackie De Wispelare and I’m the President for the revised Aquinas Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association. My husband, Eric, teaches P.E. at both the elementary and High School and we have 4 children, two at the high school and two at the elementary school. The new PTO is an evolution of the Spirit Club and we have a few primary goals:
- Create and foster a welcoming school environment to enhance our school community
- Provide opportunities for volunteering and enhanced relationships between parents and teachers
- Establish additional fundraising channels to facilitate needs at the school
- Plan activities and events for school families
The other officers for this school year are Angie Krivanek, Vice-President, Paula De Wispelare, Treasurer, and Colleen Storm, Secretary.
These are the general goals and as our organization develops, we will put more framework around these ideas to ensure we meet the needs of our greater school community. We would love to invite all parents to attend the upcoming PTO meeting, Monday, December 20th at 6:30. During this meeting, we will be finalizing dates and details for some of our upcoming activities and looking for volunteers to assist with each. Light refreshments will be provided. Additionally, we welcome new ideas for activities, fundraising, and school improvement.
